THE PROTOCOL TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA AND UKRAINE ON FREE TRADE ON EXCEPTIONS FROM THE FREE TRADE REGIME

The authorized representatives of the Republic of Latvia and Ukraine according to Article 21 of the Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and Ukraine on Free Trade, signed on November, 22, 1995 in Kiev (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement"), agreed about the following:

Article 1

To supplement the Agreement with Protocol C of the following content:

"Protocol C

On Exceptions from the Free Trade Regime

The nomenclature of commodities of the Ukrainian origin on which the provisions of the free trade regime do not apply when exported to the Republic of Latvia, except the volume quoted

Code of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System

Volume of commodity which is taken out without duty payment (tons)

Raw hides and skins of bovine (including buffalo) or equine animals (fresh, or salted, dried, limed, pickled or otherwise preserved, but not tanned, parchment-dressed or further prepared), whether or not dehaired or split

Raw skins of sheep or lambs (fresh, or salted, dried, limed, pickled or otherwise preserved, but not tanned, parchment-dressed or further prepared), whether or not with wool on or split, other than those excluded by note 1 (c) to this chapter

* - competent authorities of the Latvian side issue import licenses on the volume of commodity indicated above, on the basis of which the authorized authorities of the Ukrainian side issue export licenses.

** - the Parties of the Agreement inform each other about the institutions, which are authorized to issue the above mentioned licenses."

Article 2

1. Protocol C is an integral part of the Agreement.

2. Protocol C enters into force in accordance with the provisions of Article 30 of the Agreement.

The Protocol is done in two originals, both in the Latvian, English and Ukrainian languages. In case of a dispute the English text shall prevail.
